A guy is taking his girlfriend to prom. He waits in the ticket line for a really long time but gets them. He goes to rent a limo. The rental line is really long but he eventually does it. He goes to buy her flowers. The line at the florist is really long but eventually he gets the flowers. At prom, she asks him to go get punch. He goes to the refreshment table and there’s no punchline.
you’ve got to be kidding me
I am in physical pain
I remember this joke
I spent ages laughing at it because as my friend told me this joke, I imagined the real punchline to be something like
'He returns and abuses her with his fists'
Except that’s not actually funny abuse isn’t funny don’t do it people
i have nothing against jewellery, lines, jewellery lines, people wanting to make jewellery lines - that is not the issue okay?! i know people are against this because of making money etc etc - that’s not really it! i mean like, she’s famous, duh she’s going to make money off it.
the main thing i have against this is the whole concept of this.
yes, churches are pretty, the symbolisms are pretty - stuff like overlapping circles probably get incorporated into jewellery pieces by accident all the time. you dont need to advertise the pieces as ‘inspired by stain glass windows of the church’ - there are stain glass windows /everywhere
she has to realize that not only as a marketing thing does this not work (since the amount of non-Christians etc to be detered )… as a Christian, i find it pretty insulting. i don’t think i know of any Christians that would find this kind of market appealing at all - it’s like the cross rings trend and such. making the cross a fashion icon - i doubt any Christians were in support of /that/ - i don’t get why she’s trying to follow suit on a basically dead trend.
one line that really ticked me off is at 1:18 - ‘in the book of Genesis, Eden is described as a beautiful garden where Adam and Eve first lived. Eden is /not/ a figment of imagination… Ever Eden is a jewellery line.’
so michelle phan fans are saying OMGG WHY IS IT BAD - SHE’S BEEN A CHRISTIAN ALL HER LIFE etc etc - right there she’s implying that the Garden of Eden never existed? that somehow, it’s popular Christian belief that the Garden of Eden never existed? but oh, we are /wrong/ - EDEN IS HER JEWELLERY LINE?
how is this not wrong on so many levels?!
it is downright insulting and i dont see how people can be in support of this, or what she was thinking when she came up with this
maybe she wants a whole controversy on it to boost its widespreadness - if that’s the route she’s going down, then good for her, it’s working on me
3:05 - ‘i guess in a way, i should thank Saint Joan of Arc and all of you for inspiring me to believe in myself, and to fight for what i love…’
you know what, i like the knight collection. the concept was sounding good until you brought joan of arc into it. you didn’t need to link it to joan of arc. it was unnecessary, forced, etc.
joan of arc didnt inspire her - she just needed something to talk about as she showed herself off=_=
wow just re-reading this two years later
i forgot that i ever wrote this
